Has anyone else experienced this?
I got nexplanon July 2025. I bled CONSTANTLY the entire time. March 2026 ish I called the clinic where the doctor who put it in worked. They told me to discuss symptoms I have to schedule an appointment. The next one wasn’t for MONTHS. So I said fine but looked elsewhere just in case I found one sooner. April 7th I got an appointment with a different doctor but in the same hospital/doctor clinic as my pcp, she discussed my heavy bleeding and severe cramps. She said I unfortunately was part of the few patients that have bleeding with nexplanon and said I could keep it in and see how it works or take it out and try another form of birth control. I told her I wanted it out because from July 2025-April 2026, I had maybe a TOTAL of 14 days of ZERO bleeding and cramps. TOTAL. Not even consecutively either. She took out the nexplanon and I got a mirena iud. I experienced severe cramping so May 4th I went to a different location but same dr clinic as the dr who took out my nexplanon. We discussed how nexplanon was doing for me and said I’ve had the iud long enough that the severe cramping should be done so we scheduled an ultrasound. My question is: has anyone who had nexplanon had an ultrasound where they discovered a polyp? I know the doctors can’t officially tell me if nexplanon caused it or not but I was mostly curious. Mine is 1.2cm and I need to have a procedure to remove it.
Oh and completely unrelated but because of the constant bleeding (thanks polyp) I’ve had 3 Pap smears since Aug 2025 and each one has come back unsatisfactory because of bleeding. I had one Aug 2025, one May 4th, 2026 when I saw her to discuss my bleeding, and June 18th, 2026. Now I have to do an estrogen thing for a week to hope that helps get an actual result other than unsatisfactory…if not I will need a colposcopy with a possible biopsy 😭
*note* I’m not asking for actual medical advice, just if anyone else had this experience or not. I have doctors giving me medical advice, and they won’t say for sure what caused the polyp (probably because they can’t be sure).
I will update if anyone is interested (idk what I’ll update on but y’all let me know if you want updates and on what 😅)
