Hi,
I've got a 2023 Kia Rio GT Line S MHEV S-A - 22k miles on the clock. Owed it since Sept 24. The last 3 weeks, the front brakes (both sides) have been getting very warm, with the bodywork above the wheel arches significantly hotter than all other panels on the car, to the point I could fry an egg on them should I choose....
I know it's normal for the front brakes to be a bit warmer as they're doing more of the work, but it doesn't seem like it should be getting this hot?
It's happening even after a short 8 mile journey on 30mph roads with no heavy braking. The car had it's first MOT (UK) and it's annual dealer service on Friday too. Apparently there is nothing wrong with the brakes with only some "bluing" on the outer discs which again, is apparently normal. No other issues.
I'm thinking a possible caliper problem or a dragging handbrake....
Has anyone had anything similar, before I go back to the garage?
TIA
