Chronic stabbing bicep pain after heavy shoulder press injury years ago — disappears with compression?
Years ago I went way too heavy on shoulder press and felt a sudden sharp stabbing pain that felt like it was in a vein, nerve, or tendon area. Ever since then I’ve had a strange issue that doctors and scans haven’t been able to figure out.
Whenever I lift heavy on bench press or overhead movements, I get an extremely painful sharp “static/electric stabbing” feeling in my left bicep area. It almost feels like a nerve getting pinched or shocked. The pain can get very intense under heavy load.
The weird thing is: if I tightly wrap/strap the area with an elastic compression band, the pain almost completely disappears and I can lift much more comfortably.
I’ve had scans and medical checks over the years but nothing obvious was found.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Possible nerve entrapment? Tendon instability? Scar tissue? Bicep tendon issue?
Interested to hear if anyone found a diagnosis or treatment that helped.
