So a friend was picked up with about 500k and 50lbs of grass all devices seized by the dea they let them go told them they will be talking to everyone real soon

On one of the devices another friend incriminating evidence is there involving grass deals and firearm deals with said person the dea stopped

My question I guess is what’s the likely hood the dea seeing those messages and what is the charges he could be looking at? Did dude snitch to get let go ? Are they building a bigger Rico case?

Friend bought and sold grass and also guns through private means and resold them to the target individual. For a small profit sometimes cash sometimes grass sometimes even at a loss.
