“American Style” GP / Family Doctor

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone has had success, in London, in finding a GP you can see regularly (I imagine private) who gets to know you / family over time, and is willing to do regular checkups, like family / primary care doctors back in the States?

While we love the NHS, as we age more little things pop up here and there, and being seen consistently by an individual who can spend more time and not just focus on acute, vs. many doctors at large London surgeries, would be helpful. Especially as we like to ask questions / did deeper.

Thank you!

EDIT: Looking for recommendations in the Zone 1-2 London area!

Practicality Meets Audiophile-Newbie Rec

Hi all,

I’m looking for advice on a new pair of cans.

A bit about me:

-Was very into music growing up, never had super high end gear, but a decent mini system, good headphones when I could afford it, etc.

-As an adult, music shifted into being a bit of a background element for me, less time really sitting and appreciating it, and more time filling mental white space while on the go

-Recently, on advice of a friend, I purchased a pair of iLoud mini desktop monitors and they’ve really reopened my love of listening in (relative) high fidelity to great music on good equipment

My ask:

In-line with this, I’d like to upgrade from my trusty Bose QC35s. While they have served me well as someone who travels for work, they just don’t do it for me sonically now that I’ve re-dipped my toes into higher quality kit.

That said, I can’t really afford multiple pairs of cans, so am trying to thread the needle on high quality sound that will still serve me for the office, airplane travel, etc.

Any tips? I’ve considered:

-B&W PX8 S2 (sound nice in store but so expensive…)
-Sennheiser HDB 630 (seem like maybe will have most similarity to the iLoud sound?)
-New Sony 1000 Collexion (too new to know much about)
-Other models of B&W to save some cash

I’m probably leaning the HDB 630 as many say competitive to the PX8 S2 but at much lower cost. I know will all of these I’m compromising a bit (eg. XM6 or QCU would probably be best noise cancelling, and true on ear monitors would be best sound).

Thanks!

PS - as a side question, am I right to assume that even models reviewed with “okay” ANC from any current gen models will still outpace my 10 year old QC35s?
