Nothing is working and I'm not even sure it's fungal acne anymore. 25F.
For the past 4 months I've had these tiny uniform bumps all over my forehead and cheeks. They're itchy sometimes which is why I assumed fungal acne. I switched to fungal safe products, tried Nizoral as a mask, cut out all fatty acids and fermented ingredients. Some days it looks better and then it comes right back. The confusing part is sometimes it responds to antifungals and sometimes it doesn't which makes me wonder if it's a combination of things, maybe fungal and hormonal or fungal and a damaged barrier. My derm isn't sure either and wants me to pay close attention to when it improves or when it flares so we can figure out what's actually going on. But I've changed so many products in the last 4 months that I honestly can't remember what I was using when it looked better or when it got worse.
I'll have a good skin week and think I've cracked it and then it comes back and I don't know what changed. Was it the product I added? The one I removed something I ate? My derm wants me to come back with a clear log of what I'm using and how my skin responds day to day so we can finally nail down what this actually is. I need a system for this because my brain clearly isn't cutting it. How do you guys track product changes and reactions without losing your mind?
