4th day post op
I’m on my fourth post-op day after my pilonidal cyst surgery. So far it hasn’t been painful at all (only during the wound cleanings). They left the wound open and it’s pretty large. I’m looking for a support network because it’s affecting me a lot psychologically and hurting my self-esteem just thinking about how the scar will look, being afraid it might come back, and worrying that it could get infected. I’m open to suggestions and advice.
I had it removed because it came back three times (the first time was two years ago, and it was insanely painful, then again in March, and for the last time in April). Also, my doctor told me how dangerous it can be to leave a pilonidal cyst untreated. I never thought it would be this difficult to cope with this situation as a woman.
