I received an alert that action was taken on my case, but it only says “still being processed” does this mean approval is near?
I received an alert via text and email that action was taken on my case yesterday. When I checked my account it only updated to say “Case is still being processed…” I keep checking the documents tab hoping there is more there, but nothing. I’ve seen on other threads that this means I could receive an approval soon, could that be the case? This whole process has been exhausting,we’ve been waiting almost 21 months just for this first step to get approved. I’m curious to see if anyone else has had any similar experiences or insight to what this means on a consular processing I-130 standalone.
Further context:
I am a U.S. citizen with consular processing for my spouse who is in one of the 75 paused countries. My PD is August 26,2024, I had recently reached out to my senator’s office since my I-130 is outside of normal processing time. They responded by telling me it was moved to a local field office in my state and it’s within normal processing time of 58.5 months. Why our standalone consular I-130 is at a local field office? Only God knows , because my senator’s office doesn’t. They said “it may need further review..”
To be honest it feels nothing short of discriminatory, but that’s a story for another day. Does this notification mean anything at all?
