The Lion King Rollout and the London Blogger: How Aryan’s 2019 Dating Rumour Arrived Right on Cue
I went back through the 2019 “Aryan Khan is dating a London blogger” story because the more I looked at it, the less it felt like a simple relationship leak and the more it started to look like a very specific kind of Bollywood gossip packaging. This post is basically an attempt to answer three questions: 1.What was going on in Aryan’s life/public image when those reports came out?
2.Does the timing make this look like a real relationship story, a tabloid embellishment, or something more PR-coded?
- possibilities
🔅What the original 2019 reports actually said?
Why the timing of this rumor is the real story The biggest reason this rumor is worth revisiting is when it appeared. The “London blogger” story dropped in mid-July 2019, which is the exact same window in which Aryan suddenly became relevant to the entertainment press in a new way because of The Lion King. For context: in July 2019, Aryan voiced Simba in the Hindi version of The Lion King.......This was not a full acting debut, obviously, but it was one of Aryan’s first major public-facing film-related moments....... For the first time, the press wasn’t just covering him as “SRK’s son in the background.”....... They were covering him as someone with an actual release attached to his name.
What was going on in Aryan’s life around July 2019? To understand why the story feels “placed,” you have to look at Aryan’s public position at that time.
#Aryan in early 2019 In the first half of 2019, Aryan was still mostly in student / private star kid mode. He wasn’t being actively launched as an actor, he wasn’t doing interviews, and he wasn’t functioning as a public celebrity in his own right. His visibility was still mostly secondhand — family photos, social media scraps, occasional party pics, and the general aura of being Shah Rukh Khan’s son. #Aryan in June–July 2019 Then The Lion King happened. That project suddenly made Aryan usable as entertainment-news content. Not because he was fully “debuting,” but because it gave the press a legitimate excuse to talk about him as an individual. Articles started focusing on: his voice 🚩whether he’d enter acting or filmmaking 🚩whether he sounded too much like SRK 🚩whether this was his first “step” into cinema And that’s exactly why the “London blogger” rumor feels less like a spontaneous leak and more like part of a larger image moment.
📛That leaves a few possibilities:
❗️Possibility 1: There was some real London connection Maybe Aryan genuinely was spending time in London that spring/summer ... whether for studies, travel, or because the girl herself was based there. In that case, the story may have been based on a real social situation but still dressed up by tabloids.
❗️Possibility 2: The article merged details sloppily This feels very possible to me. Entertainment journalism is full of stories where one real crumb gets turned into a more glamorous, coherent narrative. Maybe there was a real girl. Maybe she was London-based. Maybe Aryan was visiting. And then all of that got compressed into “Aryan has been studying in London for months and is dating a blogger there.”.....she must be just his friend 🤦♀️....yes ! A guy and girl can be friends ( even if srk say otherwise)
❗️Possibility 3: the “London” detail was there to elevate the rumor This is the more cynical read, but it’s not irrational. “London blogger” is a much more flattering, high-status, cosmopolitan romantic image than “random college girlfriend” or “party friend.” It makes Aryan look global and elite, not messy or local. If the point of the rumor was to give him a polished adult image, London is doing a lot of work in that sentence.
Either this was planted by his pr or .....it's was media being media 🤷♀️
Aryan Khan At The Jamnagar Pre-Wedding Of Anant Ambani: Confirmed Attendance, But Somehow Permanently Assigned To ‘Out Of Frame’ Most Of The Time 😭🤷♀️
Genuine question: with 100s of cameras at Jamnagar, how does aryan still manage to stay in ‘background character’ mode? Is it skill, timing… or selective cropping by the universe.
it’s almost impressive....He could be sitting next to SRK in a room full of photographers and still end up edited into invisibility in half the posts.
Either He has mastered stealth at celebrity events… or paparazzi cameras automatically blur him out like a software feature. Lol 😂
Is this some kind of agreement between his pr and media ? 😭

The Bads of Bollywood : This show understands Bollywood misogyny… and then accidentally recreates it 💀 (ft.Karishma deserved a therapist and a POV episode 🫠)
>In midst of bads season 2 rumors , lets talk about the female characters ......they're interesting until the plot remembers that men exist.
I like this show but let's be honest somethings are missing.....and I hope they cover this things as writing is under way ( if they're making bads 2 )
the female characters are not completely terrible… but they’re written in a way where their emotional complexity often exists mainly to develop the men around them 😬 That’s the difference between: a flawed female character vs an underwritten female character pretending to be “complex” Let’s dissect the major ones 👇
1.Karishma Talvar : She’s probably the clearest example of “good concept, incomplete execution.” Karishma represents:
- star kids trapped by legacy.
- daughters controlled by powerful fathers.
- women treated like branding assets.
- Bollywood femininity as PR construction. Her relationship with Ajay Talvar is actually one of the stronger thematic ideas.
But .....the series rarely lets her exist outside of male world ....we don't know what she actually wants long-term.....Even the incest-twist fallout becomes more about Aasmaan’s emotional collapse than hers. While watching show .....I was like yes Aasmaan is devastated but where is she ? What about her emotions? .....did she had deep convo with her mum ?
2. Sanya (manager/friend) This one annoyed a lot of viewers quietly because she had HUGE potential. Sanya represents: 1.women surviving through intelligence rather than lineage. 2.emotional labor in celebrity culture. 3.invisible managerial work behind male stars. You can feel the show understands that women in Bollywood frequently become emotional shock absorbers for unstable male egos.
But .....then the writing traps her into fixer role, support system role,“understands the hero deeply” role. We understand Aasmaan through Sanya. But we don’t fully understand Sanya through Sanya. Which creates ....Huge difference.
3.Neeta Singh (Aasmaan’s mother) Honestly? One of the more interesting women conceptually.
She represents: 1.hidden histories. 2.women forced into silence. 3.survival through compromise. 4.the emotional cost of male celebrity culture.
But again: the series treats her more like a keeper of plot twists than a fully lived-in person. We don’t deeply explore: A.why she stayed silent. B.what she sacrificed emotionally. C.whether she resents Ajay. D.whether she resents Aasmaan. The show uses her silence as suspense machinery. That’s effective for drama. But thinner for character writing.
But to be fair — not ALL criticism is valid ⚖️ Karishma being confused, passive, emotionally manipulated? That actually makes sense given her upbringing. Sanya being emotionally repressed? Also believable. Neeta being silent for decades? Very believable in Bollywood-family power structures. The issue isn’t that these women are flawed.
>**The issue is:**The show could’ve become genuinely GREAT if it fully explored: how Bollywood manufactures femininity. That’s way darker and richer than just: “Bollywood men are corrupt.”
