I’ve been following Tamil Nadu politics closely for about a year now. Not because of TVK or because I’m a Vijay fan, but because there’s a genuinely new player on the ground.
I’m not from India, but I’m a proud Tamil, and I just want to share an observation. Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of negativity and doubt around TVK and Vijay. It reminds me of what happened in my own country.
We had a party that ruled for over 40 years, almost untouchable. In the early days, they did well, but over time corruption crept in. The economy weakened, currency value dropped, and people started struggling. Eventually, there was a political reset. People chose change.
When the new government came in, the same questions came up:
Can they govern?
Do they have experience?
Will they fix anything?
For the first couple of years, not much seemed to change. But then things slowly turned. The economy stabilized, currency improved, oil prices became manageable, and public sector performance got better. Real progress took time.
That’s my point here. Don’t judge too early.
Yes, TVK is new.
Yes, Vijay is an actor.
Yes, there’s no governing experience.
Yes, he hasn’t engaged much with the press.
But maybe it’s worth giving them space to prove themselves. Let them take responsibility first. Time will show whether people’s trust was justified or misplaced.
Also, one more thought. Introverts are often underestimated. You don’t always know what they’re thinking or what they’re capable of. But when they make a decision and commit to it, the outcome can be very decisive. It can go either way, but it won’t be half-hearted.
Personally, I feel Tamil Nadu might be heading toward a strong phase. Just a gut feeling.
And to be clear, this isn’t coming from a fan perspective. Just someone observing, thinking, and hoping as a Tamil.
Hoping for the best days ahead for all my fellow Tamilians.
