Hi, 2 young dogs that were clearly used for breeding were dumped in my neighborhood. They had no microchips and were in bad shape. I took them in temporarily and found a rescue. This is a reputable 501c3 rescue and they assured me that they’d keep the dogs together while they were being fostered so they could learn more about them. The dogs were inseparable and would not leave each other’s sides. They did everything together, groomed each other, and found comfort with each other. It’s been 3 weeks since the rescue took them in and I found out that they were separated. 1 of them is in a foster to adopt home and is seemingly depressed while the other is socializing with other dogs at the rescue founder’s home. I feel extremely guilty as this was not my intention, but I wasn’t in a position to adopt or provide vet care for them. I understand that finding an adopter for both of them is difficult, but it’s weighing heavily on me.
