My friend (Italian passport) applied for a UK ETA today (she forgot to apply before) and has a flight from Italy this evening (20:40).

I understand that an ETA is required before boarding, but I wanted to ask if anyone has had recent experience with last-minute approvals (same day).

How long did it take for you to receive it, and were there any issues at boarding if it was approved close to departure time?
