Employment status while on LTD?

Hello, I have a mortgage renewal coming up and I am on long term disability, no confirmed return date. Can I still get a letter of employment? Has anyone gone through this and have experience to share? Happy to receive DMs about it. Thank you!

What is a reasonable frequency for me as a parent to message my special need's child's teacher about him? My kid is the type to be very quiet and not say much but have a lot of internal anguish that he shares at home. Overall he finds school a struggle. He has an IEP, etc which include self-advocacy goals but it is a work in progress. I'd like to write the teacher to let her know for her awareness or sometimes a need to intervene when something really has an impact on him (i.e. bullying, or facing a challenge he needs help with but can't ask, or a sensory thing that weighs on him a lot).

Sometimes I want to ask for clarification on a situation that seems problematic but I want to better understand the teacher's point of view so I can frame things and support my kid to better understand, or ask nicely if things can be handled otherwise in the future if possible, depending on the answer. I'm always respectful, grateful, and I recognize that she has a lot on her hands. Is once per week on average too much? I'm probably writing once per month now, choosing the most important issues, but I'm holding back.

EDIT: For clarity, my child is in second grade, age 8
