My dads last few weeks are happening

Hello all

My dad 64 years old was diagnosed with a glioblastoma last August (2025) he had an operation to remove followed with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. We then found out at the start of the year it was growing again and he started another cycle of chemotherapy. Unfortunately this didn’t work.

3 weeks ago he was walking around, we were going out as a family he was independent within a space of a week this all changed. Unsteady on feet, falling, no feeling in left side day by day getting worse. Now he is bed bound in a hospital bed downstairs and unable to walk and we can see him getting worse each day. I knew time was short but didn’t expect the change to happen within a few days. We have been told we are now looking at few weeks left. He is not talking as much and I hope he isn’t in pain and doesn’t have to suffer.

I just wanted to ask if there is anything we as a family should look out for in these weeks? I have read probably countless times online what to expect but I wondered if there is anything else worth noting? We have district nurses and Dorthy house involved and also carers coming in now to help him.

This is really horrible and I never expected to lose a parent in my 20s. So many milestones he will miss (walking me down the aisle, being a grandparent etc the list goes on). Seeing him in the bed everyday really breaks my heart and I can’t even put in to words how he must be feeling I hope he’s okay and I am sorry to whoever else has to go through this. I will aim to do as much fundraising as possible for this later in the year and for the rest of my life.
