Anyone else Deeply disappointed with Afrihost Vodacom? I genuinely regret leaving Rain

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've somehow managed to find a network worse than Rain. Let me explain.

I switched from Rain because the service would literally drop whenever it rained, which, living in the Eastrand around Birch Acres, is not exactly a rare event. So I made the move to Afrihost on Vodacom, thinking I was upgrading. I was wrong.

I'm on the 100Mbps plan and here's what I actually get:

- A 400GB FUP, which is already disappointing on a "100Mbps" package

- Speeds that swing wildly between 40-80Mbps one moment, then crash to under 1Mbps the next

- The majority of the time I'm sitting at under 10Mbps on a plan that promises 100Mbps

- Zero consistency, I never know what I'm going to get

Here's the kicker. Rain's 30Mbps plan, the one I left behind, was actually delivering closer to its promised speeds more reliably than this 100Mbps joke of a connection. At least with Rain I knew what I was getting. This is all over the place.

And don't even get me started on fibre. I think it was Vuma that dug up the trenches in my area, got everyone's hopes up, and then just... never came back. Still no fibre coverage in Most parts of Birch Acres.

I would not recommend Afrihost Vodacom to anyone in the Eastrand around Birch Acres. Genuinely regret leaving Rain, at least their failure was consistent.

Has anyone successfully gotten GEMS to cover a specific medicine brand in full when they only want to pay for the generic?

I'm on GEMS Ruby and currently prescribed 81mg methylphenidate daily (54mg + 27mg) and 150mg bupropion for ADHD.

GEMS covers Mefedinel and Unicorn in full but Neucon has a co-payment of around R380-R400. I want to switch fully to Neucon because I've noticed a significant difference in how the two products affect me. On Mefedinel and Unicorn I experience anxiety, jitteriness, back pain and energy crashes. On Neucon alone the release is noticeably smoother with none of those side effects.

I'm asking my doctor to write a clinical motivation to chronicdsp@gems.gov.za requesting a formulary exception so GEMS covers Neucon 27mg and 54mg in full. Same plan for Wellbutrin XL over Weldep.

Has anyone on GEMS Ruby successfully gotten a formulary exception approved for a specific methylphenidate brand? How long did it take? Did GEMS push back? Any tips on what the doctor's letter needs to include to make it stick?

Any experience with this would be helpful
