Any RPIT 2026 participants still waiting for Security & Fire Protection assessment result?

Hi everyone, Is anyone else participating in the RPIT 2026 summer research program at École Polytechnique / IP Paris still waiting for the result of the Security and Fire Protection assessment? It has been 2 months in my case now, and I still haven’t received the final confirmation letter yet. My internship is supposed to start from 1 June, so I’m starting to get a bit nervous mainly because of the visa timeline and travel planning. Would really appreciate hearing from fellow participants: Have you received your clearance/final confirmation yet? How long did it take in your case? Is anyone else still waiting like me? Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone, I urgently need advice regarding an MIT summer internship opportunity. I’m an Indian student from IIT Bombay, currently a 4th-year Engineering Physics dual degree student. A professor at MIT has agreed to host me for the internship, but there is a funding requirement that I’m struggling to understand.

I’ve been told I need to show 51% scholarship/funding support, and the remaining amount I can self-sponsor. The issue is that while my family is willing to arrange the full amount ourselves (loan or other means), I currently don’t have any official scholarship source covering that 51%.

Does anyone know:

  • What exactly counts as the required 51% funding?
  • Can this come from relatives/friends, sponsorship letters from relative/friend , etc.?
  • Are there any scholarships/funding options Indian students commonly use for this?
  • Has anyone faced a similar situation for MIT or US internships?
  • How to get a way for showing those 51% as funding?(If there's any as this is quite a important opportunity for me, also for my Grad application)

This is quite urgent since summer is approaching and timelines are tight. Any precise information or guidance would really help.

Thank you!

Hi everyone, I was recently provisionally accepted for a summer research program at École Polytechnique (IP Paris). However, they mentioned that final admission is contingent on a favorable assessment by the Director of Security and Fire Protection. They also told me this assessment can take from a couple of weeks up to two months, and that they don’t currently expect it to take the maximum amount of time. It’s now mid-April and I haven’t received any update yet. My concern is mainly timing, since I would need to start the visa process soon, and I also have university exams at the end of April. Has anyone here gone through a similar process for École Polytechnique / Institut Polytechnique de Paris (or another French research internship)? How long did the security assessment take for you? Is this a standard administrative step for international students? Once approved, how quickly did they send the official confirmation letter and visa documents? I completely understand these things take time, just trying to understand what is normal and plan accordingly. Would really appreciate any experiences or advice. Thanks!
