I have been struggling with stomach issues for the past five years. I initially went to my doctor and had blood tests, stool tests, and urine tests done, but they all came back normal. I was then referred to a gastroenterologist, who told me there was nothing they could do and diagnosed me with IBS.
For a while, I tried to manage it on my own, but my symptoms eventually got worse. I decided to see a different type of doctor who had studied internationally and does not follow traditional Western medical practices. They told me I had an overgrowth of harmful bacteria in my stomach, which now makes me think I might have SIBO. They put me on enzymes, probiotics, and homeopathic treatments, which did improve my symptoms over time, but the issues always come back.
I was also advised to see an acupuncturist to help with sensitivities, which I am currently doing, although I’m not sure if it is helping. My diet is very simple and consistent of eating plain healthy foods such as meat, fruits, and vegetables. Despite this, I still experience pain for no clear reason. I can go an entire week eating the exact same foods with no problems, and then suddenly have a day where I experience severe stomach pain and diarrhea without any obvious trigger.
My bowel movements are rarely normal and are usually loose. I feel helpless because I’ve tried multiple doctors, but nothing seems to provide a lasting solution. I thought that eating healthy would prevent these issues, but that hasn’t been the case. I miss being able to eat freely, go out with friends, and enjoy life without worrying about my stomach. Right now, it feels like that isn’t possible.
I don’t know what to do or how to fix this, and I would really appreciate any advice.
