Meta dropped an Ads CLI today for managing campaigns from the terminal. As someone building a social media API (Zernio), this is validating the idea probably everyone was already thinking about. We need programmatic ad management, not just the Ads Manager dashboard.

Their tool is solid for Meta-specific workflows. But two things stand out:

  • Ads are created paused by default. For automation or AI agent workflows, that means an extra manual step before anything goes live.
  • It's Meta-only. If you're running ads on TikTok, Google, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or X too, you still need separate tooling for each.

We've been shipping a unified CLI + API + MCP server that handles ads across 6 platforms (as well as social media posting/comments/DMs/analytics across 15 platforms). One auth, one interface, ads go live when you want them to.

Happy to answer questions about the technical side - how we handle cross-platform ad normalization, auth, rate limits across 6 different ad APIs, etc.
