Seoraksan National Park with kids in August!

My family (me, husband and two daughters aged 7 and 15) are planning to spend a few days in Seoul in August and a couple of nights close to the entrance of Seoraksan National Park. The idea is to soak up some greenery and do some nice gentle hiking, nothing too extreme as we will have the 7yo with us. I am trying to find some routes that might be suitable.

Lonely Planet suggests the walks to Yukdam Pokpo and Biryong Pokpo waterfalls, the cable car ride to the remains of Gwongeum Seong, and the walk from the Seoraksan Cherry Blossom tunnel to the coast at Daepo port. Thoughts? Feasible? Or are there other trails that might be nice?

I am aware it will probably be very hot! We live in Japan so are used to heat, but trails that offer shade and allow us to pace ourselves might be a good idea!
