What do you think of MVP's Mauro Ranallo's commentary style?

He knows his stuff and never makes mistakes but critiques say he overhypes especially when the fight does not warrant it. Some of his catch phrases can also be distracting, but in terms of raw talent he is probably the best.

Is Russia's military growing larger in Ukraine even in 2026?

I'm not pro-ru, but a lot of pro-western media is claiming that Ukraine is hitting higher casualty numbers than the Kremlin can recruit. The problem is, they do not take into account wounded that return to the frontline which CSIS estimates to be 76% of the two-thirds that survive being wounded.

Here's a total breakdown. I suck at math so if anyone finds a mistake, I'll gladly correct it.

  1. Russia recruited 406,000 in 2025
  2. Suffered 415,000 casualties (KIA and wounded)
  3. One-third are KIA (CSIS)
  4. Two-thirds are wounded with at least 76% return to frontline (CSIS).

2025 KIA One third of 415,000 is 138,333

2025 Wounded Two thirds of 415,000 is 276,666

76% of wounded that return to the frontline 210,266 (50,463 medically discharged)

Approximate Net gain from recruitment in 2025 406,000 - 138,333 - 50, 463 = 217,204

Although these numbers are approx, it calls into question whether Russia experienced a net loss of manpower in 2025 at all. Ukraine's battlefield successes may have even more to do with improved drone warfare and the loss of Russian Starlink.
