Mild, Mild spoilers if that's okay, otherwise let me know I will tag it as spoiler.

The movie Videodrome feels more like how the media perpetrates and manipulates common man into madness, seeking senseless violence. It slowly compels you, pushes a narrative into you to believe what is unreal as real. It makes you believe something visceral and makes you revolt against the void. The people (the corporations) who order Max to kill others slowly brainwashed him into madness.

It also suggests how our mind responds and functions to the media and violence. The mind perceives it as real and forces that narrative as true and evident because it is portrayed on the screen. It recognises the screen as the true evidence for the truth even when it is only a false narrative, an agenda that is pushed by others. From the beginning it is kinda obvious that Max only liked the idea of sensational thrills of torture and murder, but didn't have the stomach to actually digest the content. He seems agitated at first, feeling disgusted towards it. But the nature of violence, or the content is such that your mind always wanting more; hence, Max's growing interest in finding more on the topic of Videodrome. Also remind me of the movie Thesis (1996) which has some similar effect to the similar, if my memory serves it right. Apart from that the metaphors of tumor and all those were pretty obvious that the obsession of watching morbid things only grows in one's mind if fueled once.

Nevertheless, the movie was amazing, felt more like a student film for its college thesis project lol but very surreal and fun.
