Saw the urologist today. Had alot of questions that he refused to answer.
Warning long post and im sorry but im kinda panicking lol
I had a follow up with the urologist today and had an xray befor hand. He came in the room and asked me how ive been feeling pain wise and when I told him very little but the pain has migrated down. I showed him where and he just shook his head and ignored it. Then he proceeded to tell me he "thinks" i may still have the stone. Showed me the xray and said it looks like it has moved. But then went straight to i need surgery and i asked since its moving and its not causing any issues can I continue to take flomax and try to pass it naturally. He didnt want to hear it and even cut me off mid sentance. He provided options between the Shockwave or going in with a scope and Lazer. He said id need to be put under for both i asked about being sedated instead because ive heard many ppl have been heavily sedated vs anesthesia. He said no and basically said either procedure could not work and he doesnt know and even if I get the lazer we could have to do it again which made no sense to me. When it came to scheduling they basically said you need to do it a certain day and when I told them I cant do it that day due to numerous reasons. They basically bullied me into scheduling that day. My stone is 4mm and ive only had it for a month. Asking if anyone has had an experience where a stone that size that has moved but the doc refuses to consider not doing surgery? I feel like ive seen many people take a few months to pass it without blockages or complications. The hospital is went to has a bad reputation and i only went cause i was worried i had appendicitiswhenni went to the er (my primary care even told me to avoid that hospital) but just wanna know other people's experiences with something like this. This is my first time with a stone so I apologize if any of my questions are dumb or if im ranting. Should I get a second opinion? Im leaning towards getting one just because that doctor was a dick and wouldnt listen to anything I had to say.
