Hey everyone

I was on a J-1 trainee visa that expired in April 2026, so COS isn’t an option for me. I’ve been admitted to Trine University’s MSBA program and now need to schedule an initial F-1 visa appointment at the US embassy.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? A few questions:

•	How tough was the interview? How do you justify you’re here to study ? 

•	Any specific questions they focused on given the J-1 → F-1 transition?

•	Any documents you’d recommend bringing beyond the basics (I-20, DS-160, financial docs) to reduce denying risks ?
