How do you achieve that 'wide' cinematic vocal space without losing mono compatibility?
I've been working on a track that needs a very intimate, "breathy" vocal feeling (similar to a dark golden-hour vibe), but every time I add the reverb and stereo width I want, the vocal disappears in mono.
I used [insert your DAW here, like FL Studio or Ableton] with some heavy layering and ambient synth textures. I tried Mid-Side EQ and some parallel compression, but I'm still not happy with the "depth."
I've uploaded a snippet of what I have so far. Does the vocal feel too "washed out" or is it just me?
