Ahoy mateys,

I'm about to run my very first Pirate Borg session, starting with the Trapped in the Tropics module. Question for anyone who's run it : do Beltran de Ordaz & Mother Iris accompagny the PCs from the very beginning ?

I'm asking as, from my experience of mostly running DnD games, it's pretty difficult for me having "powerful" and "important" NPCs tagging along with the players - especially for a full "adventure" for one main reason : NPCs could realistically not want to follow along with the PC's shenanigans / obey their orders (especially since they are somewhat figures of authority and have principles), ultimately reducing player's agency and their liberty of freedom, by fear of reducing their group's "power" or losing important quest-givers.

For example, I couldn't imagine Mother Iris supporting PC(s) constantly trash-talking God or being obvious heretic(s), as she's litteraly an Inquisition nun.

Or Beltran accepting to take orders from the PC's crazy plans because they'd put him him danger - even if said plans are super fun.

Thanks in advance for anyone who could guide me !
