Had an initial ablation done in Feb last year, but didn’t resolve my atrial ectopics (40% burden). Cardiologist stated this was due to the ectopic coming from beneath where the artery branches, and it’s incredibly hard to get to.
Since then, it’s been getting worse - they always happened in cycles, but the cycles for the last year have been awful; can hardly stand due to light headedness, can’t exercise, feel exhausted etc.
We agreed when it happened again he get me in for a second attempt - but this time with a second cardiologist and a backup plan of using alcohol and balloons to get the problematic area.
My concern is that last time, I had awful side effects - in recovery, I had a massive spike in BP that made my head feel like it was going to explode, and then went blind in one eye for a minute. I then kept randomly losing vision in one eye for a minute or so over the following 10 months, along with getting visual aura migraines (which I never had prior to the op).
I’d love advice on anything I can do or say to make this op a success and also eliminate those side effects. I’m quite concerned as I was petrified when the BP spike happened, and spent 10 months wishing I never had the op in the first place.
