OVERVIEW -
In past drafts Brett Veach was able to take chances on positions that would potentially assist the team with expected absences in free agency the coming year.
KC could have between 48-83 Million in Cap Space in the 2027 Offseason.
The Chiefs will have 3rd Round Pick (McDuffie) and 4th Round Pick (Compensation for Watson). They'll have SF's 6th round pick, but they lost their 6th pick for Justin Fields.
Potential Free Agents 2027:
Leonard Williams, Derwin James, MIchael Owenu, Kyle Pitts are all possible free agents that KC could look at.
CAPOLOGY
Despite investing a 1st round pick in 2023, a 2nd round pick in 2025, a 3rd round pick in 2025, a 1st round pick in 2026, and a 2nd round pick in 2026.... the Chiefs could still focus Day 1 & 2 draft picks on Defensive Linemen.
With the likely end of Travis Kelce's career, KC will also need to find a No.1 target option for Travis Kelce.
Right Tackle is also something the Chiefs will need to address. Depth at Tackle needs to become a priority for Veach and has been a need for years.
Although this could be a turnaround year - the extensions of Jones and Bolton may have prevented KC from locking up McDuffie and Watson. (Bolton receives 15M this year, Jones will be paid 35M).
