City Drivers- what’s the risk of theft?
Hello!
I am unexpectedly car shopping after my 2021 Rav4 was stolen while on a family road trip in Quebec. Since then I have learned that this is the most commonly stolen car in Canada.
I now am looking at the 2026 hybrid CR-V (specifically the TrailSport) and 2026 Rav4. I like both nearly equally, but so far have a slightly better price on the CRV. The one thing that worries me is risk of future theft. Though I now know that the Rav4 was a target in Canada, in my city (Philly) I have heard that the CRV is targeted. I live in the city and park on the street. Is the theft a big enough issue that I should avoid this car? Or do the key-bags and clubs work well enough to stop potential car thieves?
