Disco Launcher Update
Hey it's been a few weeks! I got a lot of comments on my last post so I figured id give a little update, im still working hard on Disco Launcher! Sorry to say that its still not quite ready for a full release yet as previously planned, but it's because the feature list is ever growing! There are so many cool things that have added since the last post, so let's go go over a few:
• added a lock screen that works beautifully in the OG metro style and is fully customizable
• Added an indexing system to index messages, emails, notifications etc. entirely on device for intelligence features (similar to ios27 siri, no data ever leaves your device and all the code will be inspectable on GitHub when the release time approaches) ~ the amount of context this provides is seriously helpful and makes even modern chatgpt feel dumb sometimes 😅
• Added Jupiter! (cortana but like good?) super early and animations are still kinda buggy. it's using Gemini nano on device model rn that technically can work offline and unlimited without API credits (keep in mind world knowledge and context is heavily limited when offline but indexed data is still very reliable
• Added the ability to customize disco apps and launcher features by talking to Jupiter, no more one size fits all software!! If you want your calculator to be scientific all the time because that's how you like it just ask Jupiter to change it :)
• Added the ability to create new simple personal apps in the metro UI style just by asking Jupiter to make it
• ability for Jupiter to take agentic action inside of disco apps and user generated apps
+ ALOT more that I'm looking forward to sharing as we get closer to release
as always, any ideas and suggestions are encouraged and thank you guys so much for the patience. alot of rough edges to clean up but I wanted to be honest with the state of progress. hopefully there will be a full release by the end of next month depending how beta testing goes (starting soon so keep your eyes out if interested 👀)
P.S. miss minutes is not related to disco, it's codex letting me know I have a open GitHub pull request 😅 and again thank you to the talented Cherryhoax to whom this would not have been possible!
