EMT school

Hello I live in Arizona looking for a EMT program to go to. I currently work 5 days a week 6:45 to 5:30 and a Toyota dealership. Looking for something to work around my schedule. Any advice would help! Thank you.

I thought about going to phoenix medical training center and doing that EMT program. Has anyone heard of it or know any night programs?

I currently lift weights 3-4 days a week and hit the stair master for 25min on 5 speed. is it realistic for bigger guys to work in this career? I want to drop to 240 and maintain weight there. I want to shoot for 2027 seasons and see but wanted advice. Thank you!

Would it be best to wait until next season and cut more weight and get into more shape?

Mechanics worth it

Hello I currently work at a Toyota dealership as an express tech. I’m trying to see if it’s worth stay in this field to become a tech. I’m mostly thinking about if I’ll make enough to support a family and buy a house and be able to do all that stuff. I thought about maybe doing diesel if it’s worth it to I wouldn’t mind. I like cars and working with my hands so any advice would be appreciated.

Can you realistically support a family and make successful career as a wildland firefighter?

Hey everyone, I’m seriously considering a career in wildland firefighting and wanted to hear from people who have actually done it.

Is it realistic to build a stable life doing this? Were you able to support a family, buy a house, save money, and have a good work-life balance? Or is it something that’s hard to make into a long-term career?

I know you’re away from home a lot during fire season, but I’m more curious about the financial side and whether it’s possible to provide for a spouse and kids. If you stayed in wildland long-term, what career path did you take (engine crew, hotshots, smokejumpers, federal, state, etc.)?
I’d appreciate hearing both the positives and the downsides. Thanks!
