Dumb move... ran away from a firework after lighting it and now paying the price.

AHR 3 months post...

Dumb mistake yesterday. Last 2 days I spent tilling up yard with a machine. Then planting lots of annuals. Passed this test with flying colors. Actully felt pretty good after.

Then last night was lighting some fireworks for family and neice and nephew. Lit a mortar in the and wasn't thinking and ran away from it. Big mistake lol. Actully did that twice before realizing thats a no no. Paid the price last night (hard time sleeping cause the hip swelled up) and today. Swollen and tight leg...neuropathy in feet hurting.

Just forgot I cant do that stuff anymore. Got away with it i guess. I'm sure by tomm or next day it'll probably get better with rest but man did i set it off. Have to remember I'm gonna have limitations now for awhile at least.

Neuropathy in feet question.

Hi I had AHR 2 and a 1/2 months ago. I have a unique situation where I have something called Transverse myelitis. Its a spinal cord issue that hit me 10 years ago. Its very rare and left me 80% paralyzed from the waist down for a few days. Since then I've gotten about 80% back but still suffer with super tight muscles from my lower back down with pretty bad neuropathy in both feet. Im in pain every day that I've just learned to deal with because there is no cure. Nerves are affected and it is what it is. Can't run or jog but I can walk albeit with alot of discomfort but I can play some golf and can walk 5 miles if i had to.

I was going to PT for it and they noticed I had very restricted hip movement and suggested an mri. Turns out I also have a hernia and torn labrum both on that side and severe arthritis with bad bone spurs so THR was 100% necessary. I had high hopes that this would greatly improve my symptoms from the TM too as there's no doubt it had to have some affect on those symptoms.

The recovery was definitely harder because the hernia operation and THR replacement just 4 weeks later stirred up the symptoms from the TM. My hip had.come along well. It still gets swollen when I over do it. I know im nowhere near full recovery especially considering I had hernia done and then thr on same side just 4 weeks later.

While I realize its a long shot anyone in here also has TM my question is is there anyone else who had pretty bad neuropathy in their feet before THR. And if so how has your recovery been. Im not worried about my hip. Its doing pretty good. However the neuropathy in my feet is so much worse. As is the muscle tightness in my lower back...glutes...legs and feet. I was hoping to come out of this a bit better overall. And i realize its still early in my recovery considering what I have. But its almost 3 months later and its all so much worse.

I was hoping to start swinging a golf club after 3 months but im Def not there yet. But damn my feet are so bad. Just standing burns and at night and when I wake up...WOW..terrible.

Im trying to be patient but now im starting to worry I made things worse. Was just wondering if anyone has anything even remotely similar abd how did it work out?
