My mare almost always gets up from rolling like this. To me it looks like she doesn’t actually commit to getting up until after she rocks for a while. Thoughts? Planning on bringing this up to my vet when she comes out for fall shots too!
This mare is SO hard to fit. I was riding in a corriente barrel saddle (7” gullet, 90 degree bars, 24” long). Stopped using that because I felt like it was tight in the shoulders. I couldn’t easily run my hand down the bars under the saddle. I’ve tried a ton of bad fits along the line including kuda, big horn Halflinger saddle, 2 different abettas, regular big horn FQHB. I have a circle Y high horse extra wide on the way and just got this DP quantum in yesterday. Am I wrong in thinking there’s something not quite right about the way the flocking fits her especially in the back? Help!!
Opinions on the way this saddle fits? Feels a little tight in my opinion but the bars do maintain contact throughout. This is a corriente barrel saddle 7” gullet 90 degree bars
Thoughts on how this saddle fits? 7” gullet, 90 degree bars. I did wither tracing using the coat hanger trick and I got 9.75” after going 3” down and 13” for the spread at the bottom. I think the front is a little tight but otherwise the bars make contact with her whole back and I feel like the bar angles are right. I have a big horn Halflinger saddle coming soon to try as well. Any other recommendations on saddles to try?
Thoughts on the fit of this saddle? Great wither clearance, bars sit with even pressure down her whole back. Finally not lifting in the back which was my issue with the last 3 saddles I’ve tried
