Been smoking a lot of cigarillos lately as nice way to take a quick cigar break without smoking for 2 hours. Can get some great flavor & smoke out of them too. Out of these I’d say the ranking goes: #1 Fuente Cubanito Natural, #2 Fuente Cubanito Maduro, #3 Macanudo Red, #4 Davidoff Gold, #5 Davidoff Silver, #6 Montecristo Classic
Can you guess which are my two favorites?
Got 2 Lanceros 2017/2018, 2017 LFMF, 2020 Toymakers, 25ths, 20ths, ForbiddenX13s, 11 OXO Double Robustos, 9 PerfecXion Xs, Templo de Oros, Shark, Super Belicoso, Robusto & Double Robusto, Chateaus, & Gran Aniverxario
Alfonso Extra Anejo #3: Light creamy toasty. Bandolero Premium Bravos: Light delicious creamy spice. OpusX Perfecxion X: medium sweet, spice, cedar. Padron 1964 Imperial maduro: medium chocolatey, nutty coffee. Incredible sticks I can’t stop smoking, all straight cut
Oro Oscuro Fuente Fuente. The OXO is probably my favorite cigar of all time along with Padron 1964 maduros. Usually smoke the Double Robusto but tried it in the Fuente Fuente & loved it, hope everyone is having a great FF
Double Robusto Tubo. Recommended from friends on the sub. Quite different from the other God of Fires as it’s a touch fuller body with a darker profile. More chocolate, coffee, & peppery spice than Anniversario & Don Carlos. Great stick that’s worth trying for any level of smoker, I still have to try the Carlito & KKPs
Happy Ending. Great cigar, I’d describe it as a variation on the hemingway with more sweetness & a bit more body. Worth trying if you can find it for a reasonable price
Corona Gorda. Happy Fuente Friday! Been looking for these a while as recommended by a friend on the sub. I bought this from a new shop & didn’t notice the crack in the wrapper, though the binder was still intact so it smoked perfectly fine I just used cigar glue. I got notes of Fuente cedar, spice, & an interesting coffee flavor. It was a good Fuente but nothing standout amazing to me. If you like the Hemingway Natural or Don Carlos this is worth trying & better imo, I might personally just not like Cameroon much
Thankfully was able to finally get my hands on one of these as I was gifted one. Not sure if it’s just that I was excited to try it but it’s very good. The box press makes for such a nice easy draw that you’re able to get a full profile in every puff. Great sweetness, spice, cedar, & that Opus fruit I love. Not a fan of the regular shark but this is a fantastic smoke that I absolutely recommend
Robusto. Definitely one of the more popular cigars I hear about, has been recommended to me a lot. I liked it better than the other Foundation stuff I’ve smoked, chocolate, nutty, & spice were the primary notes & I quite enjoyed the experience. Strong nicotine content as well, I’d recommend trying it out for a decent smoke at a reasonable price.
Happy Fuente Friday. Preface this by saying I got violated for this cigar, paying probably the most over MSRP I ever have. But they had it so I got it. Solid flavor profile similar to the ForbiddenX Maduros, a funky earth, wood, & sweetness are the main notes. If you really like Liga type cigars give this a shot, but not one I’d recommend across the board
My first LFD & probably one of the most hyped cigars out there. It was a very good smoke & I can see why people like it, but didn’t blow me away like some cigars do. Spice, cream, & leather profile mainly, something worth trying if you can get it at reasonable prices
Ilustre. Deep cut for my fellow Selected Tobacco fans. Quite hard to get this cigar despite the semi-reasonable price, as it’s only sold in ST gift sets. Really wonderful smoke & absolutely delicious, everything I like that ST does is in this stick. Smooth sweet, creamy, spice notes & a bit more medium than usual. Absolutely something to try if you can find them in singles
Churchill size. Love this cigar & it was still good having aged almost a decade, but I do prefer these sticks a bit fresher. Where Opus age brings out the fruit notes, aging these Don Arturo for too long mellows everything out a bit much. Great aged cigar & more of a luxury than a must-try
2017 OpusX Lancero, happy Fuente Friday. Wow this was so much better than the last 2017 Lancero I smoked. Funny how that works where sometimes one cigar is just extra good. Really got the sweeter fruity notes of the blend here & it was a delicious smoke start to finish
Duque vitola. Would say this is a solid stick all around, didn’t wow me but did not disappoint me. Nice chocolate & wood notes for a good medium profile. Reliable smoke with a simple profile that’s worth trying if you like chocolate flavors, but nothing to chase after
Alfonso Anejo #3. Went up two sizes in the Alfonso & it really made the flavor even better. Delicious honey sweetness over almond nuttiness, cream, & toast. This is a top favorite of all time cigar for me now & certainly something to try if you like lighter cigars with depth & complexity
Bandolero Premium Bravos/52. Very good cigar by Selected Tobaccos, has that signature cream note over nice baking spice & subtle sweetness. Definitely one I recommend if you enjoy lighter smokes
Serie E No. 2. Certainly has that distinct cuban creamy hay flavor, but quite a bit heavier than the Cohiba & other cuban I’d smoked. Enjoyable cigar that’s worth a shot if you can get it
One of the vitolas I’ve wanted since I first heard about Opus. 2020 roll age keeps enough of the Opus punch but mellows funky spice/cedar while bringing out more of the fruity qualities of the blend, which I like. Very good cigar, not really a must try but certainly a unique & special collector’s piece
