Secret Cams, Blackmailing,Mob violence and Administrative crackdown at VIT AP

Posting this as a concerned parent who has heard of the issue from my child who is a student at vitap

what happened:

A girl living in the LH3 hostel secretly recorded her roommates in private moments and shared the videos to her male friends

The male friends in turn blackmailed the girls in the videos

The girls reached out to their male friend who tried to talk to the guys responsible but they were locked into a room in their hostel and beaten up by the blackmailers and their friends

Administrative Crackdown:

The administration has allegedly erased evidence related to the incident confiscated phones of victims and has posted security guards outside of the culprits rooms to protect them from other students

My child tells me the University has done this to protect their reputation and I am aware that this is not the first time something like this has happened at VIT AP

The administration of this college cannot be let go of this so easily they dodge accountability on every step and protect their reputation more than they protect their own students

The culprits are being allowed to roam freely while the victims are still facing restrictions

How is this just? Is this how a college management should behave?

What is the point of us paying such huge fees or taking out loans for the same if the University cares more about their reputation than they do about our children ie their students??

I request the mods to not delete this post as students deserve to know what's happening to them 🙏🏻
