I’m done pretending

I’m done pretending like this mutt isn’t irritating tf out of me. My s/o has a rescue shitbull. Due to my living situation, I spend 80% of my time at their place. I cannot with this dog.

Every time I come through the door I’m being trampled & shredded apart by this massive animal. To the point of having permanent scars on my legs. My s/o refuses to cut the dogs nails because “she doesn’t like her nails being cut”. Okay? I don’t like being shredded apart by an 80lb beast.

At night, the dog will lay on the floor next to my side on the bed & snore & rip ass all night keeping me awake until 3am. During the day, she’ll follow us around & do the same shit.

When it’s time for her to go outside she’s, yet again, trampling the fuck out of me. Not only that, but she chokes herself on her own leash leaping down the stairs to be let outside.

The worst part? My s/o loves this dog more than anything (supposedly, you’d think loving your animal would mean training it better… but I guess not). Multiple times a day they’re groping this dog & kissing it on the mouth (right after I’ve just watched her go to town licking her ass), telling this dog it’s “so pretty” & “such a good girl”, etc. Half of the time, I feel like I’m begging for a fraction of affection that their shitbull mutt gets. Anytime we’ve had intimacy the dog is getting right in between us & ruining the moment. It’s gotten to the point that I don’t even bother to attempt any form of affection or intimacy because the dog always has to get involved one way or another.

I’m just so over the idolization of dogs. When did we start yearning for love & affection from animals & not our partners? Is this normal??

School rejecting my TB test

My school requires that we receive a TB test every summer and submit it to Verified Credentials to attend clinical’s. They like it to be within 12 months of the last TB test.

I received my TB test on 7/8/26 and assumed I’d be within the 12 month window because I had gotten one 7/8/25. I got an email from the lady who oversees our Verified Credentials documents stating that I needed to get a new note from my doctor because it didn’t have the doctor’s office name on the note. I reached out to my doctor’s office & the nurse said there was issues with them documenting the TB test, so I’d have to come back in & get another one. As frustrating as it was (I live 2 hours away from home… where my doctor’s office is) I agreed & got my TB test on July 29th of this year & submitted it. The entire time this was happening, I was in contact with the lady from my school. Despite it being past the 12 months at this point, she said she’d approve it for me. Well… she emailed me yesterday morning asking me to change my original date (7/8/26) to 7/8/25. I tried, but verified credentials wouldn’t allow me to. I reached out to client services per her request & they told me that there’s nothing they can do. Without this being properly uploaded, I cannot attend clinical’s. On the off chance I’m not allowed to continue my nursing program, what can I do? I’ve spent so much time & money on this program & I’m in my last year… I really don’t want to start over somewhere else. Any advice?

Update: My school got back to me & accepted my TB test finally! Thank you for the advice!

Retail Pharmacy Rant

I don’t even know where to begin with this… so I’ll start from the beginning.

From the beginning, I’ve been the bottom of the barrel coworker. Usually ended up in drive-thru. Doesn’t sound too bad until you realize that the giant drive-thru window has no shade screen & sits right next to our medication robot. This robot puts off a lot of heat, which is nice in the winter, but absolutely balls blazing in the summer. The pharmacy sits at 75 degrees pretty regularly due to corporate controlling our AC. Recently, I’ve been working weekends, which means we’re super short-staffed. Drive-thru on weekdays usually consists of 2-hour increments due to how hot it gets. Somehow, I end up back there for my entire 8-hour shift while everyone else around me plays on their phone & openly talks shit on any & every customer that comes in.

We’re in the top 3 of the busiest pharmacies in the state, so if working in the heat for 8 hours straight wasn’t enough, I also get to put up with some of the shittiest customers. I’m constantly getting berated for the medication prices, getting screamed at about insurance, asked a million times if I can call the doctor or insurance for them, complaints about the line being too long, etc…. As if I’m the one that has any control over this. No, I don’t make the prices. No, I can’t call your insurance or doctor for you. No, I can’t tell other people in the drive-thru to hurry up. And no, I cannot fill your controlled substance on day 24/30.

And if that wasn’t irritating enough, there’s the work drama. I’ve worked at a retail pharmacy since July 2024. I moved 2 hours away from home & needed a new job pretty quickly. I have a best friend (we’ll call her A) whose twin sister (we’ll call her B) worked at this pharmacy. B put in a good word for me & I started pretty quickly. That’s when things started going downhill. Almost immediately, B started talking shit on A (yes, her twin sister) constantly. I never felt like I could say anything because B had worked here for much longer than I did, so she had made close friends with some of our coworkers. Eventually, A started working at another pharmacy across town. B ended up transferring to a different pharmacy & I thought that was the end of it. After months of putting up with being neglected in the drive-thru, I decided to apply to transfer to A’s pharmacy. No sooner do I get approved to transfer, B starts telling everyone at A’s pharmacy that I’m a terrible worker, no-call-no-show, call out every chance I get, etc. This was disheartening because I was really looking forward to starting new, and I‘ve never done any of the things they’re claiming. Then I find out that the reason I’ve been getting mistreated at my current pharmacy, is because B ruined my name there too & happens to be friends with one of the pharmacists. This pharmacist has gone out of his way to call me homophobic for not coming to his Christmas party (my mom had cancer, so I had to spend my entire Christmas break taking care of her), yelling at me to do a million tasks while everyone else just mopes around, and even went as far as to insult my career choice. Saying that “nurses are terrible” & “only nurses who go to (my current university) are only going there because they were too stupid to go anywhere else”.

On the bright side, I transfer in August. I’ve never been happier.
