New to Bass. Need help on EQ.
Hi everyone. I’ve been playing guitar for several years and I’ve just bought a bass and an amp ( Boss Katana 110b ) to start playing bass guitar.
For some time I didn’t own an amp so I connected my bass to amp sims like Guitar Rig. I’ve always been bad on setting the right EQ for my playing but it wasn’t too bad.
Now that I’ve got an actual amp for my bass It’s been even more difficult for me to do the EQ on the amp. My biggest problem is that when I play with a pick or pluck the strings hard enough when playing the low strings ( E and A ) the amp feels like it’s gonna blow up. It’s just too loud and “bassy”. This might be a dumb question but what is the reason of this? And what should I change/do to prevent this from happening. When I lower the bass on my amp or the guitars eq the top strings (D and G) sounds really pale and quiet.
