2nyrs after ch 13

I thought this might be helpful to someone - I’m just over two years out of a 5-year, 60% chapter 13 and life is really good. The time before my bk was, as everyone knows, a total low point and insanely stressful. Stressful, demoralizing, hopeless. All-consuming. The ch 13 was hard and friggin long, but I’m so grateful it happened - I am at a completely different place in life now, so much better. My credit score is well above 800, I have an honest to god emergency fund, my retirement savings is even relatively on track. I have two credit cards with obscenely high credit limits that I use rarely and in 2+ years I’ve never carried a balance/paid interest. I generally live well below my means. I feel like bk changed my brain chemistry or something - and I’m actually grateful I didn’t qualify for a ch 7 because I needed the long damn slog to really learn the lessons I needed to learn. A quick three-month discharge or whatever would absolutely not have done it for me.

Anyway, it’s expensive as shit to live rn and I'm not rolling in money, but money is not very stressful for me and that’s a miracle. Not trying to make it sound easy, but I thought maybe that could give some people hope? I hope so 💙

Pass

I passed the AIGP exam today. While I didn’t find the exam to be easy (I found it quite challenging - I have no AI background), I did find the linked post very helpful. I used the following resources to study off and on for about 6ish weeks:

  • The official self-paced training from IAPP - a little disorganized and hard to follow but ultimately covered most of the material (I know it’s crazy expensive and I wouldn’t have done it if it was out of pocket)
  • AIGP Playbook - I think it was $10, the questions are too easy but it was extremely helpful to just drill, which I did a lot of, and it does have some challenging questions thrown in there
  • Privacy Bootcamp - this got me through my CIPP but I would definitely NOT recommend it for the AIGP; its chaotic and some of the information is out of date, I regret spending my money on it

The exam had some easy questions on it, thank God, and also some questions that covered material that must’ve been in supplemental documents because it sure as hell wasn’t in the official course. But I think it’s doable for most having gone through it with really zero AI knowledge. I‘m grateful for this and the CIPP sub, and I’m grateful it’s over.
