5 things in seoul that were 100% worth the hype (and 3 that were overrated)

just got back from a 2 week trip to seoul and wanted to share my honest breakdown for anyone building their itinerary.

5 things worth the hype:

  1. doing a night picnic at banpo hangang park with ramen and convenience store drinks. the fountain show and city lights were unbeatable.

  2. Getting a skin analysis and hydrafacial in gangnam. booked a nearby clinic with english support through unni and the facial left my skin glowing for the rest of the trip.

3.morning walks around ikseon-dong before the crowds show up. super aesthetic hanok alleys.

  1. taking the arex express straight from incheon to Seoul station. saves so much energy.

  2. Trying a private spa inside a traditional hanok building. getting a scrub and head spa in that setting was pure healing.

3 Overrated things:

-myeongdong street food stalls. honestly overpriced and pretty generic compared to local markets.

- waiting 2 hours for cafe Onion in anguk. good pastries but plenty of identical hanok cafes with zero line.

- visiting Namsan tower on a cloudy day. you literally see nothing

the ultimate jetlag cure in seoul

got off my 14-hour flight feeling like an absolute zombie. instead of napping, i went straight to a private hanok spa in hongdae (the seolha). the hot water, organic body scrub, and massage literally brought me back to life.

schedule this for your first day

what exactly counts as a non factory clinic?

I recently got ultherapy.

the consultation was honestly really good so i went ahead with it.

but my appointment was at 11am and there were literally like 7 other people booked for the exact same time. i had to wait almost 15-20 minutes just to get numbing cream.

waiting 15 minutes past your appointment time... this is exactly why people complain about factory clinics right?
