Finally getting my hardware removed!!
I had a significant injury in December of 2024 that resulted in shattering several bones in my left foot (talus, talonavicular joint, cuboid) and right ankle (lateral malleolus). I’m finally having all my hardware removed from both the left foot and right ankle on July 2nd!! I have taken my recovery and rehab very seriously and progressed significantly, but I’m at the point where I won’t continue getting better until the hardware is gone and it’s causing me so much grief and pain. I already have post-traumatic arthritis in my left foot from the injuries and understand the pain/discomfort from that won’t necessarily be better after the surgery, but I am sooooo excited to have this all gone. It severely hinders my quality of life, range of motion, strength, balance, etc. I will definitely update here once I’m done with the surgery. But in the meantime, I’d love to hear all the hardware removal stories! Anyone have injuries similar to mine?
