I used Chat GPT to summarize a Reddit post comments(Which fast food chain has lost its way the most)
I saw this post on Go to AskReddit asking Which fast food chain has lost its way the most?. I asked Chat GPT to summarize the comments. I had a bit of any issue getting the exact data I was trying to get but this was the best I could do. I thought it was interesting. The post generated 3800+ comments. Heres the result. I actually guessed it was Panera Bread before I messed with it ....
From the comments visible in the file:
Panera — 4 mentions — 10,923 combined upvotes
KFC — 2 mentions — 4,384 combined upvotes
McDonald's — 4 mentions — 3,970 combined upvotes
Subway — 2 mentions — 1,215 combined upvotes
Tim Hortons — 2 mentions — 1,918 combined upvotes
Taco Bell — 2 mentions — 4,309 combined upvotes
Wendy's — 2 mentions — 1,354 combined upvotes
Chipotle — 1 mention — 134 upvotes
Dunkin' Donuts — 1 mention — 698 upvotes
Steak 'n Shake — 1 mention — 132 upvotes
Culver's — 1 mention (positive mention) — 698 upvotes
Waffle House — 1 mention (positive mention) — 921 upvotes
If you're trying to determine the overall Reddit consensus, the ranking from the visible data is:
- Panera
- Taco Bell
- KFC
- McDonald's
- Tim Hortons
- Wendy's
- Subway
- Dunkin'
- Chipotle
- Steak 'n Shake
The strongest theme in the thread is that Panera is viewed as having fallen the furthest, driven by complaints about:
- Price increases
- Menu removals
- Lower food quality
- Loss of its bakery identity
I got this response also. How could I have corrected this?
I can do that, but I want to be transparent about the limitation:
The JSON file you uploaded is truncated. Reddit returned only part of the thread and replaced hundreds of comments with"kind":"more" placeholders. So I cannot accurately count every restaurant in all 3,809 comments from this file alone.
What I can do is tally the restaurant brands that appear in the comments that were actually included in the JSON.
