What to expect at the live Gladiators show?

I'm taking my 9-year-old to one of the Glasgow dates next month, and I'm wondering what to expect. Should we be showing up early - like are there events around the stadium for fans to do? Or do we just turn up at the time on the ticket, watch the show and go home? My daughter wants to make a sign for her favourite Gladiator (Dynamite), which i assume lots of people do. Just want to know what to expect so we don't miss anything, and to see if anyone has any tips to make it a great day out. Also, can we find out in advance which contenders we'll be seeing? Thanks!

Musical styles referenced in "Please Hello"

In the incredible "Please Hello" from "Pacific Overtures", I can clearly hear the Gilbert & Sullivan reference in the pattering way the British representative speaks - it sounds like a parody of "Modern Major General". Are the other countries' national music also referenced? The Russian part sounds Russian to me (something about the tempo, rhythm and the low brass), and the French part sounds like a good impression of post-war French pop music, but are there any particular composers or musical styles that Sondheim is drawing upon? I'd be particularly curious about the Dutch guy.

What's Mrs Lovett's unfinished line in "The Worst Pies in London"?

Mrs Lovett sings:

>Is that just revolting?
All greasy and gritty.
It looks like it's moulting
And tastes like—
Well, pity
A woman alone...

What is the line she doesn't finish with "And tastes like -"? Tastes like what? My sense is that she's stopping herself from being rude/improper, but what exactly does she stop herself from saying? I've always assumed it's "shitty", but I don't understand how "and tastes like" can be ended with "shitty" in three syllables. ("And tastes like it's shitty?" To me, this doesn't have a natural ring.)

Am I missing something obvious?

Contemporary bands for fans of mellow prog rock

I'm makinga playlist for a friend who really likes 70s prog like Floyd, Genesis and King Crimson, but particularly their mellower stuff. I'd like to include some music from contemporary bands in that tradition, but he definitely won't go for metal(unless it's a track that doesn't sound metal). Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
