Gym routine for speed, strength and endurance

Hi everyone!

I have joined a gym and want to use it to get better on skates. However, I feel very out of my element and overwhelmed and have resorted to using the „machines“ a bit aimlessly, but really want to have a more focussed training plan (I don‘t love looking so confused in the gym haha). I really am a gym beginner, so any tips (how many reps? how many times a week? what is the exercise? what weight do you start with?) are appreciated!

I would be super happy for any advice, your workout routine, where to find free inspo (as I also get bored easily), exercises you find changing your game, tips for confidence at the gym, anything like that.

I am looking to improve explosive speed (I am slow on the lines), strength (as I have relied a bit on my higher body weight for that but at this level that doesn’t help anymore) and strength endurance, and also prevent injuries, as I have broken my ankle before.

If it‘s also relevant, I mainly block. :) The gym is very well equipped so there are lots of weight options, machines and fancy shit. The free weight part has felt more overwhelming for me though 😬

Thank you all!!
