Pool Help

I’m helping my parents get their above ground pool set up for the summer and my husband and I are trying to decide the best course of action. They had drained it last month or so. There were a lot of leaves, most of which we were able to clean out, but obviously the pool is still very green and filmy. We’re trying to decide if we should get a water pump and pump out the remaining gunk, or fill it back up, run the filter, add algaecide, and vacuum up what’s left. Haven’t tested the water quite yet, but it hasn’t had any chemicals added to it recently. Pictures attached for reference. Thanks in advance everyone!

Pool Type: Vinyl
Pool Volume: approx. 9600 gallons
Filter Type: Sand
Chlorination method: tablets and liquid
