Fun fact : the telescope scene is made explicitly romantic in the french dub
I'm bilingual French/English, and I often enjoy rewatching shows in different dubs. I just so happened to rewatch the telescope episode today, and one detail hit me about it.
After saying that he loves Senku, Gen specifies that Senku may think he's a little too "fleur bleue". It's a french idiom that means being an overly sensitive romantic, coming from an old german tale about an hopeless romantic knight.
So instead of the regular "you may think that's cringe" "yeah you're cringe" interaction, what happens is basically Gen telling "maybe I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic" and Senku telling him that yeah. He sure as hell is.
