Does this game hold up until the end?
I’ve played a lot of CRPGs and turn-based strategies/tacticals. I love the genre but I’ve become a little wary of it over time…
A problem that games in the genre often have is that by the end, you’ve gotten good wargear and leveled your guys and you’ve unlocked incredibly powerful synergies and combos, and the game becomes really easy. At which point, you kind of start getting bored with fighting another same old same old battle, looting yet another crate, grinding a little bit more XP, +1-ing another minor attribute, etc.
I‘m considering buying Rogue Trader with its DLCs on sale right now, but I see that it takes 100-200 hours to complete, and I’m worried that it’ll become a slog around the 75 hour mark and I’ll still have literal days of content to grind through to get to the end.
My questions… does the game hold up through to the very end? And is the end and the story worth the significant amount of my life I’d need to invest in it to play it through?
Thanks for your help!
