Toyota RAV4 2026

Hello everyone. I really need your input if you have a Toyota RAV4 2026. I currently have a 2022 Highlander that I’m close to paying off but I’m very sad that I‘ve had some issues with it that I just don’t feel that it’s reliable anymore. I take excellent care of my cars and do their service at the dealership ALWAYS so as you can imagine it was a shock when at 43k miles my Highlander needed a transmission replacement! I was out of a car about a month and a half and practically needed to fight the dealership for them to pay for my rental and even that was about two weeks after my car had been at the dealership waiting for the transmission to be shipped to them. They said it was really rare for this to happen but I searched online and this transmission in particular (UA80) is known to have manufacturing defects and Toyota currently has lawsuits in Texas and California for this reason. I’m currently at around 52K and the new transmission has started to act up. For example when I put it in reverse NOTHING happens even stepping on the accelerator. It only happens now and then and of course not when I take it to the dealership to have it checked out. My warranty will end when I get to 60K miles and I don’t want to be stuck with a $10K bill for another transmission. I’m a mom and I mainly use this car to take my kids to school so that was the main reason I bought Toyota thinking I wouldn’t have issues with reliability but it seems that all cars made after 2020 have issues. I’m thinking of trading it in for a 2026 RAV4 since it’s a hybrid and gas where I live is $6.50 so if would be nice to save money on gas. Please share your experiences with me if you have a new RAV4. Thank you!!
