Looking for suggestions on brand/model for camper trailer

Hey folks! Looking for advice on brands and models. We toured a few RV yards today, and they seemed kinda brand specific, and we got a general idea of what we’re looking for, but there are so many options, and I’d rather hear from this community than the salesperson intent on a commission.

So, background: my wife and I have two kids 9&11, and camp often in our renovated 76 holiday rambler. Unfortunately, it’s getting a little rough and the repairs it needs outweigh the cost of a new model. Plus, we’re getting older and some of the creature comforts would be welcome. Planning on head south in winter 2027 and want something we can count on.

Towing vehicle is 2026 Chevy Silverado.

Wish list: Max 22’, we like to get into tight sites, and frequent sites in remote-ish areas for hunting etc. often on unserviced sites.

Need tandem rear axle, for safety and getting it off an interstate or highway if a tire goes.

Looking for slide-out, but definitely not a deal breaker. Kinda like the extra room.

Want A/C and furnace. Getting too old to mess around with the wood stove we put in our old rambler, and summer days at 30+ suck in our existing set-up. I see this is pretty standard in many of the newer models.

Two kids, so wanted bunk beds.

Would like to have it ready / wired for solar.

We liked the Jayco Jay Flight 211 mb, but holy, it was 34k CDN. Not outside of the budget, but didn’t seem to be great value for the $$$

Want to make sure it’s ok for cool weather/late fall use. (Insulated floor).

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Sad to see the old rambler go, but such is life I guess?

Thanks!
