Transitioning from Engineering to FA with CFA

Hey all,

I’m 28, currently working as an engineer for 5 years now and studying for masters in Digital Signal Processing (DSP). I also picked up MM’s course for level 1 CFA. I wanted to ask others thoughts on transitioning to financial analysis from engineering and how helpful the CFA will be in that respect. I’m hoping that the years of experience I have in the working world paired with my masters and a level 1/2 CFA will make the transition smooth, even if I need to take a small pay cut.

So what are your thoughts? Is this a transition someone in my position can make?
