Hi everyone,
I need some guidance on a BOWP + PR situation.
My work permit expired in March 2026

I applied for a BOWP before expiry and I’m currently on maintained status ( not cancelled yet confirmed with IRCC) and working (WP-EXT letter issued)
This was based on my previous PR application, which later got cancelled due to a medical document issue.

I have now submitted a new PR application and received a new AOR.

I called IRCC and they told me I can either:

1. submit a webform to attach my new AOR to my existing BOWP, or
2. apply for a new BOWP based on the new PR application

My questions:

1. Is it better to just update the existing BOWP or file a new one?
2. Does filing a second BOWP while the first is in process create any risk or confusion?
3. If the first BOWP gets refused but a second one was already submitted, would I still be in maintained status?

Any advice or similar experiences would really help. Thanks!
