Diagnosing Endometriosis

Hello,

My TCM doctor has explained to me that she believes I have very advanced endometriosis which could have been life threatening if untreated. I am wondering…from a TCM perspective, how can she be so sure that is my western medicine diagnosis when my western medicine doctors very much did not think I had endometriosis after doing all of the ultrasounds, hysteroscopies, and other exams. I have been told by western perspective it can only be definitively diagnosed via surgery (which I have not had).
I have tried to learn more about my condition by asking questions at each appointment, but this way of thinking is so foreign to me (and there is a slight language barrier) that I feel I’m missing important pieces. Here are some other things I believe I have gleaned from my treatment if helpful in answering this question:
- I have Shao-Yin syndrome
- Pattern of Spleen Qi deficiency and dampness
-Original presenting symptoms included prolonged but light menstrual bleeding (2-3 weeks out of every month), lots of brown blood, lots of clots, moderate cramping, chronic migraines, chronic brain fog and significant memory struggles, vertigo, chronic anxiety, very cold feet
-treatment has been very successful in terms of regulating my period but core contributing symptoms do not yet seem in balance. (E.g. weak digestion, poor circulation to feet) so she continues to “monitor” me monthly.
